The DEX Operational Data captures information about an item of supply individual’s current state, mileages, failures, operation modes etc. It serves as a basis for e.g. maintenance planning, warranty follow-up, issue management, and as a basis for continuous improvements. It may be used as part of a Contracted Logistic Support (CLS) agreement etc.

The business process for which the DEX provides information is summarized in the SysML activity diagram in Figure 1.
